How to get to Newfoundland:

Since Newfoundland is an island with no bridge connecting it to the mainland, all travel to the island must be done by air or by water. Vehicles and passengers can get as far as North Sydney, Nova Scotia at which point they'll have to board a ferry to cross over to the island.

Airplane:

There are airports located in St. John's, Gander, Deer Lake, and Stephenville which handle international and domestic flights via the following carriers:

Our closest light-aircraft airstrip is located 15 kilometers North of Clarenville along Route 230. It is 1220 meters (4000 feet) long and 23 meters (75 feet) wide. It can accommodate turboprop and small piston-engine aircraft, but you should confirm your situation with the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Transportation and Works.

Vehicle and Passenger Ferry:

Vehicle and Passenger ferry service is available year round between North Sydney, Nova Scotia and Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland.

Another ferry is available during the summer which travels between North Sydney, Nova Scotia and Argentia, Newfoundland.

Boat:

Newfoundland has many ports which are capable of docking boats ranging in size from sailboats, to yachts, to cruise ships. The closest port to our location is in Princeton. For more information contact:

From the Trans-Canada Highway (TCH) (Route #1):

• Exit the TCH onto The Discovery Trail (Route 230) heading toward Bonavista and Trinity (TCH Exit #26).
• Travel approximately 40 kilometers / 24 miles / 25 minutes.
• Turn left onto Route 235 just after tourist information chalet.
• Travel approximately 6 kilometers / 4 miles / 5 minutes.
• Pass through town of Princeton and past the SPSB fire hall.
• Our entrance is the next exit on your left - watch for the sign.
• If you reach the town of Summerville, you have gone a bit too far.

From Bonavista (Route #230):

• Leave town on Route 235 heading toward Kings Cove and Plate Cove.
• Travel approximately 60 kilometers / 35 miles / 55 minutes.
• Pass through town of Summerville.
• Travel approximately 2 kilometers / 1 mile / 2 minutes.
• Our entrance is on your right - watch for the sign.
• If you reach the SPSB fire hall or the town of Princeton, you have gone a bit too far.
